As a SAS Psychiatrist in Liaison Psychiatry based at Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Kent, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality clinical service and actively involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services.
Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital trust providing a full range of general hospital services to around 500,000 people living in the South of West Kent and parts of North East Sussex. The Liaison Psychiatry Service provides a single point of contact for the mental health needs of patients attending the Emergency Department or admitted to the general hospital.
In this role, you will be working jointly with Consultant Liaison Psychiatrists and WITH SUPPORT share operational and clinical leadership of the team to ensure that the sites are suitably covered.
Successful applicants will be fully registered with the GMC, and either have or be working towards S12 approval under the Mental Health Act.
Main duties of the job
To provide psychiatric care to patients referred to the Liaison Psychiatry Service
To provide professional leadership including clinical leadership to the Liaison Multidisciplinary Team
To ensure effective liaison occurs between mental health services and the acute hospital, and also with other agencies in the voluntary and statutory sectors as appropriate

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable
- MRCPsych OR a specialist qualification from an EU country that complies with EU directive 2005/36/EU.
