Job summary

A vacancy has arisen for an Administrator to join the Ashford & Canterbury Community Mental Health Admin Team.

This role would be based at Laurel House working primarily with the Mental Health Together team. This is a fairly new team, formed as part of mental health transformation services, and we are looking for a self-motivated, dynamic, forward-thinking and flexible administrator

The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent, and will have strong customer service skills, a professional and confident telephone manner, good organisational and keyboard skills. Some experience in clinical or document typing would be an advantage.

You will require good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and be able to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations.

You would be working as part of an Admin Team, supporting the wider Clinical Team, and managers

Main duties of the job

The varied role of the Administrator will include:

  • Taking and screening phone calls and managing the admin mailbox.
  • Minuting meetings
  • Using the patient record system RIO (training provided)
  • Regular patient contact by phone/text to arrange appointments etc
  • Other varied admin tasks will be identified as the team/role evolves

It is important that the successful applicant exhibits empathy and compassion, has a professional and flexible attitude, likes being part of a team, has initiative, good communication and interpersonal skills, is able to prioritise workloads and can work under pressure at times to agree on timescales. An effective approach is required to ensure an efficient and high standard of service to our patients.
