We're looking for an internal communications expert for 12 months, while the current post holder is seconded to another opportunity in KMPT. You would be a senior leader in the communications team, and regularly advise the most senior members of the organisation.

Main duties of the job

As part of our high-performing, friendly team, you would oversee our internal communications effort - including planning and executing staff engagement campaigns on a variety of important issues, creating content & collateral suitable for a broad range of channels (from print to digital), helping to deliver an innovative, new, intranet to better connect and engage with our geographically diverse staff and supporting our executive management to drive forward change that will allow us to take better care of both our staff and patients.

  • To plan, deliver, and evaluate impactful and outcome-focused internal communications campaigns, products, and activities that support the organization's priorities;
  • Create engaging content for the full range of channels we use, including the intranet, social media channels, vlogs, blogs & newsletters;
  • To provide strategic internal communications counsel and support to a range of colleagues across the trust;
  • To oversee our internal communications channels to ensure they are being used effectively & helping to drive increased staff engagement with organisational priorities

  • Experience delivering internal communications strategies and campaigns, selecting the most appropriate channel mix and ensuring content is topical and timely.
  • Experience using two-way communications channels to build employee engagement
  • Experience of working with and influencing senior colleagues and leaders
  • Substantial experience of managing a broad range of internal communications channels and producing a wide range of engaging content - both traditional and digital - to encourage staff to act
  • Experience working with a team to set priorities, goals, objectives and timescales and comfortable working on
  • Ability to measure performance of internal communication, including using employee engagement and staff survey data to inform approaches

Desirable

  • Experience of managing internal change communications
  • Experience using social media to engage employees
  • IT literacy and basic design competency relevant to communications, including creating short social media style video content
