Job summary
We are pleased to advertise an exciting opportunity for a band 7 clinician wanting to develop specialist skills and experience in a supportive team environment.
We are currently looking for a band 7 clinician to join us in Medway Secondary Care Services and welcome applications from those with doctorates in Clinical or Counselling Psychology; Art or Dramatherapy training; or Psychotherapy training.
We are a busy and friendly team with a diverse range of psychotherapeutic modalities represented: psychoanalytic; psychodynamic; art therapy; drama therapy; CBT; EMDR; MBT and systemic family therapy.
Community mental health services are going through a period of substantial change and this position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the centre of these developments.
Our team base is conveniently located for travel; based at Britton House, a few minutes walk from Gillingham station, with several options for food and coffee nearby.

Main duties of the job
To participate in the provision of Psychological Services to adults with mental health difficulties within the community & recovery service line of Kent & Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust
To be responsible for the systematic provision of a Specialist Psychology Services to clients with complex and longstanding mental health difficulties as referred from the secondary care mental health service within the Medway Psychological Therapies service.
To undertake high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist psychology interventions in these services making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.
To ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area.
To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team of the Medway Secondary Care Community Mental Health Team.
