Job summary
We have four vacancies for band 6 Community Mental Health Nurses or Occupational Therapists to join our diverse CMHT, based in both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. We are seeking Practitioners with core mental health nursing or occupational therapy skills with an interest in working with those who have complex mental health needs. We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic practitioners with good communication and liaison skills.
We are particularly interested in applicants with a keen interest in developing specialist skills in the areas of assessment, CBT, Psychosocial Interventions, treatment of those with Complex Emotional Difficulties, and Dual Diagnosis. Potential post-holders should be able to demonstrate a capacity for creative and flexible working, and a willingness to work in a diverse, challenging and multi-agency environment.
There will be opportunities to work across either one or both of our friendly, high-functioning teams to provide specialist interventions that are of interest to you - we want to attract high-quality practitioners with a genuine interest in the interventions they deliver and therefore feel satisfied at work. We can offer a range of training and practice opportunities in CBT for psychosis, specialist interventions for those with complex emotional difficulties, along with specialist medication administration and management and other pathways - all delivered individually or as groupwork. Main duties of the job
To work therapeutically with patients with mental health disorders who have varying levels of complexity. This will include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment plans. It will also include robust needs and risk assessments and a comprehensive approach to the implementation of care and multi-disciplinary reviews. This will be in line with the statutory and legal requirements of the NHS care provisions and the effective implementation of the trust policy and procedural guidelines.
To identify, report and record all incidents of potential or actual abuse. This applies whether the victim is an adult or child. All queries will be addressed by the Trust Safeguarding Team.
Actively participate in the evaluation and development of the service by attending team and service improvement meetings.
Work in collaboration with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, and the wider trust including Primary Care, voluntary and other agencies.
