Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, highly motivated, organised and experienced Serious Incident and Complaints Investigator to join the Central Investigation Team.

This advert is open to clinical and non clinical staff with relevant skills and experience.

Do you have an interest or passion for patient safety? Do you like investigating?

This role requires the successful candidate to investigate sensitive and sometimes complex cases where things have gone wrong, but also to look for positive learning too.

The team is passionate about making change, and this role will ensure a positive, fair learning approach when mistakes occur.

The role is pivotal to involving patients, families and carers as well as clinical teams to help prevent future errors.

Changes to Patient Safety:NHS England are introducing a new Patient Safety Investigation Framework - Patient Safety Incident Review Framework - which will introduce changes to current safety review requirements. This role will therefore be subject to change in line with the requirements of the new Framework.

Main duties of the job

To ensure high quality investigations, including trend and themes analysis are completed within expected timeframes. To enable the identification and embedding of learning from serious incidents and complaints across all Directorates.
