Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist, Band 5 to join our KMPT Physiotherapy team.

We are in the process of redesigning and developing Physiotherapy services across all of our mental health inpatient wards and there are many new opportunities for developing physiotherapy practice and promoting the profession.

The work is varied and involves assessing and treating Younger & Older adult in-patients at our Maidstone sites and ward at Medway Maritime Hospital. On the completion of a new ward, the post holder will no longer be required to cover the ward at Medway maritime

You will need to be innovative and be able to think out of the box to enable our patients to achieve their potential.

Main duties of the job

You will be working alongside and have the support of a Physiotherapy Assistant Band 4, who will be able to carry out exercise programmes that you have prescribed.

Regular clinical supervision will be provided by a senior physiotherapist.

The Trust is committed to continuing professional development. The KMPT physiotherapy team have regular team meetings and opportunities for supervision, appraisal and informal peer support.

Experience in mental health is advantageous but not essential, although you will need a broad base of clinical knowledge and excellent assessment/communication skills.

To assess capacity, gain informed consent, and have the ability to work within the legal framework with patients who lack the capacity to consent to treatment.
