Job summary

An exciting opportunity is now available to join the Urgent Mental Health Helpline (UMHH) as one of our three Team Leaders. This is a great time to join the service at a time of ongoing development and innovation. The UMHH provides advice and support by phone to individuals who are not currently receiving care and treatment from KMPT services. It also provides an urgent and emergency referral management function. This is a critical role within the organisation as the first point of contact for those requiring secondary mental health services.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and experienced mental health clinician, with a professional qualification in Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social Work. You will have experience of having worked in a supervisory position before, and you must be able to demonstrate willingness to ensure that KMPT's values are realised in the way that the service operates. Post graduate leadership and/or management training is desirable.

Main duties of the job

You will have excellent interpersonal skills that you'll use to support the team to provide the best possible care. You'll work alongside our existing Team Leaders, all with specific leadership responsibilities, and support the day to day running of the team as well as clinical decision making as a key member of the multidisciplinary team.

You will provide clinical and managerial supervision to other clinicians in the team. A flexible and can do attitude is essential.

A diverse post qualification experience in mental health is required, as is at least 3 years post qualifying experience, with at least one of these years having worked in a Band 6 role.
