Job summary

Our acute admission wards in Littlebrook Hospital, provide care to adults of working age and we're looking for enthusiastic, motivated and flexible RGN to join our established team based here.

Littlebrook Hospital are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our MDT and in order to provide high standards of physical health care to inpatients with mental health illness.Littlebrook Hospital comprises of 3 adult acute wards and a psychiatric intensive care unit and provides care to adults experiencing mental health difficulties.

We are looking for a dedicated Physical Health Nurse to join us and be part of our forward thinking, progressive service, that invests in staff through continuous development and career progression.

You might be a newly qualified RGN nurse, or an experienced nurse looking for a new challenge, and you would love to join a forward thinking service that is embracing the therapeutic day.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible nurse to join our established team of staff, ensuring our patients are offered holistic care and support, which encompasses their physical and mental health needs.

Have a strong desire to support us to develop this service in a rapidly changing climate

Have an interest in supporting the physical health of people with acute mental illness having previous experience in this setting

Be willing to work in a challenging/often demanding driven environment

Be willing to engage in audit and evaluation

Be part of a team wishing to always improve the user experience of mental health services

Be able to support the management team in a leadership role

Demonstrate knowledge, skills and understanding of health issues and treatment options to provide physical health clinical guidance to all staff on matters relating to physical health and wellbeing.

To coordinate the Physical Health Nurses across the site, to ensure there is cover for business continuity.

Take a lead role in supporting and encouraging learning and development within the Physical Heath arena.

Identifying gaps in knowledge and commissioning or designing training packages to meet the need.

Support in site implementation of Physical Health priorities, polices and procedures within the Trust.

Act as a Mentor, Assessor, Coach as appropriate.

Supervise and set objectives in-conjunction with the Ward Manager in line with the needs of the Ward.
