Job summary
We have an exciting new vacancy for a Band 5 Community Mental Health Nurse to join the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIP).
This is a time for transformation where the Early Intervention in Psychosis service is evolving to meet demand. The team work with people aged 14 to 65 years and offer a number of interventions to service users who are presenting with a first episode of psychosis and their families and carers. The service has a strong ethos of ensuring service users and their families/carers are central to leading their recovery. We are looking for a qualified Nurse with relevant experience, who is motivated to work within and contribute to the continued development of this exciting service. The post is covering the Canterbury/Coastal areas and the base is Eastern and Coastal Area Office in Canterbury.
Main duties of the job
Contributing to assessments in the service users own home and in the team base.
Supporting the Team Function receiving new referrals and providing agreed treatments.
Working effectively within the Community Mental Health Service.
Having excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and procedures.
Working effectively with our partners in the Local Authority and Voluntary Services.
Ensuring assessments are comprehensive and informative to aid diagnosis.
Ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to.
Ensuring that all referrals are allocated and seen in a timely manner.
Advocating for the service user and working with carers.
