Job summary
Are you seeking a new and exciting challenge? An opportunity has become available in the DGS Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) Team for a confident and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to lead on the occupational therapy offer within the team in line with the clinical care pathways work. The post holder will not work in a mental health practitioner capacity. This is a CRHT occupational therapy specific role with the focus on delivering and developing the occupational therapy offer for patients under the CRHT team caseload to improve patient recovery outcomes. There are supervisory expectations attached to this post. Each team will have a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Apprentice or Band 5 Occupational Therapist who will also work in a focused occupational therapy way as guided by the Band 6 Occupational Therapist. There is an expectation to work in collaboration with inpatient and community occupational therapists to support the patients journey. Line management support will be via the CRHT operational team lead and professional support via the Acute Care Group Head of Allied Health Professionals. The post holder will be required to work between the hours of 8am-8pm only with some weekend working.
Main duties of the job
The senior occupational therapist is an experienced occupational therapist within the multi disciplinary care team.
To identify, develop and provide the Occupational Therapy contribution within the multi-disciplinary service in accordance with the needs of service users and the requirements of the service.
To assess, plan, deliver and evaluate therapeutic interventions for identified service users.
To manage a defined caseload of service users with occupational needs using evidence based, service user centred, hope and recovery, health promotion and relapse prevention orientated principles and practice.
To provide supervision to designated junior staff and students.
