Job summary

To work to promote diversity and inclusion across KMPT. To raise awareness of equality issues and promote change.

To support the provision of engagement activities within KMPT including regular Equality and Diversity Steering group meetings and network meetings.

To support staff in effectively engaging with service users, carers and other stakeholders

Main duties of the job

Work extensively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, service users and carers to develop strong partnerships, facilitating the development of new activities and ensure the smooth running of existing projects.

Advising about the effects of discrimination on grounds of age, disability, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation. Acting as an advocate for and presenting the needs of members of staff across the entire protected characteristics spectrum and human rights

Adhering to deadlines and accurately assimilating information in the production of reports and correspondence.

Raising orders, monitoring outstanding payments on the Trusts Procurement System, ensuring payments are received in a timely manner.

Attendance and advocate for KMPT at Kent-wide meetings including but not exclusively:

  • Equality and Diversity Steering Group
  • BME network meeting
  • LGBT forum meeting
  • Disability forum

To develop, manage and ensure the effective maintenance of electronic and manual filing and record keeping systems. Streamlining systems and processes as appropriate to allow the free-flow of information.

To develop and maintain strong links with stakeholders across Kent and Medway. Substantial liaison and communication across the KMPT and externally required.

To support KMPT to develop strong networks and links between community groups, organisations, service users, carers, and co-ordinate engagement activities and implement local action plans.

You will working together with KMPT, local and regional colleagues to support equality network opportunities.

The role includes supporting our Care Groups to develop their Diversity and Inclusion action plans and support achievement of their targets.
