Job summary

Rivendell is situated in the Eastry near Sandwich and is one of 6 Rehabilitation Units across Kent, which provides inpatient recovery and rehabilitation for individuals with complex mental health and psychological needs. The unit comprises of 10 single bedrooms and is staffed 24 hour a day, 7 days a week.

Rivendell prides itself in delivering specialist individualised and tailored recovery programmes to meet individual's needs and optimise independence.

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, motivated and adaptable Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will need previous experience in working with adults with mental health and have a good knowledge of the Care Programme Approach, Mental Health Act and Person Centered Care Plans.

Main duties of the job

The Mental Health Nurse is a key member of the multidisciplinary care team and will have continuing responsibility to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, communicate findings, influence change and promote health and best practice, patient safety and experience.

Carry out comprehensive, systematic nursing assessments which take account of relevant mental, physical, social, cultural, psychological, spiritual, and environmental factors, in partnership with the patient and others through interaction, observation and measurement.

Work collaboratively with other disciplines, patients and their carers to agree a holistic person centred care plan that addresses the needs identified through assessment.

Deliver and evaluate safe, competent patient centred care in partnership with the service user and their carers to support recovery.

Main Duties

  • Carry out comprehensive, systematic nursing assessments which take account of relevant mental, physical, social, cultural, psychological, spiritual, and environmental factors, in partnership with the patient and others through interaction, observation and measurement.
