Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist to join our well established and dynamic service for people over the age of sixty five who live in Kent and Medway. The post holder will be based in Medway within a multidisciplinary community mental health team for older people and provide a comprehensive psychological service to older people with a wide range of mental health needs including dementia. We are looking to recruit at 8a level. We are able to offer a 7/8a preceptorship to the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be based in Britton House in Gillingham; there may be the requirement to work at other sites, e.g. inpatient setting or client home. The post will be part of the Medway Older Person's psychology team, supporting and working with the Medway Community Mental Health Service for Older People (CMHSOP). The post holder will also be part of a wider Kent & Medway Older Person's Psychology Service; the post holder would be expected to attend trust wide meetings and contribute to the smooth operational running of the service. The post holder will receive clinical and management supervision and they must be capable of taking substantial professional responsibility and acting autonomously in respect of clinical decisions in their area of practice.

  • Post graduate doctorate in clinical psychology/counselling psychology or equivalent psychotherapy qualification
  • Registered with the HPC

Experience
