Job summary
Due to the promotion of the current post holder, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a keen interest in physical health in mental health to join ourPhysical Health Team.
The Senior Physical Health Nurse will work closely with the Lead Nurse, Physical Health and the Physical Health Team to support the trust wide physical health agenda and ensure that physical care priorities are responded to promptly, safely and effectively.
The Senior Physical Health Nurse will provide practice support to the Care Groups delivering the Trusts clinical and strategic physical health programme and will be willing to undertake further training where required.
You must possess excellent leadership skills, a proven track record of service improvement and be able to demonstrate evidence of change management. You will also line manage the Resuscitation Officers.
Main duties of the job
- To be reactive and flexible to the needs of the Trust as required, ensuring there is quick and appropriate response to requests for advice and incidents around the physical care needs of service users.
- To work with the Physical Health Team on the development and review of the Physical Health Training within the Trust.
- To support the Lead Nurse, Physical Health with the smoke free agenda.
- To support, co-ordinate and be a part of the staff MOT programme within the Trust.
- Shows ability to work within financial resources available.
- To ensure that accurate training records are maintained in respect of physical care training for the purpose of evidence and assurance.
- To complete ward reviews as requested by the Lead Nurse, Physical Health.
- To complete audits to give assurance against compliance with the CQC standards in regard to physical health.
- To be part of the Trust staff influenza vaccination programme in conjunction with the Physical Health Team.
