Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Nurse to join our dynamic, forward thinking diabetes team. Supported by the Senior Diabetes Specialist Nurses and Diabetes Nurse Consultant, you will be working with the wider diabetes multidisciplinary team to provide specialist diabetes support, advice and education for patients with type 1 and complex type 2 diabetes as well as other healthcare professionals. We are seeking a nurse who has a positive approach and is committed to making a difference. You will need to demonstrate a keenness to work in the field of diabetes, effective communication and teamwork. Experience of supporting patients and carers with diabetes management would be an advantage but not essential as training and development in role can be provided.

This role will be based cross site between the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton and The Princess Royal Hospital , Haywards Heath. However, a job share to cover each individual site would be considered.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide specialist care to people with diabetes in the adult setting. Although, the predominant focus will be on assessing, implementing and evaluating care in the inpatient setting, the post holder may also provide specialist advice where required to patients, carers and other members of the multidisciplinary team and also to people with diabetes requiring specialist podiatry intervention within our hospital podiatry clinic
