Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated, NEBDN or NVQ Level 3 qualified, GDC registered Specialist Dental Nurse to work within both the Maxillofacial Department and Restorative Dentistry Department.

You will need to have a keen interest in Maxillofacial and Restorative Dentistry specialities as well as being team focused, with excellent communication skills and commitment to patient care.

We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK GDC registration. Main duties of the job

  1. To work within the GDC Code of Conduct at all times and adhere to health and safety legislation.
  2. To be responsible for the professional and operational delivery of high quality clinical care standards ensuring that patients are always treated with dignity and respect.
  3. Through being a role model create a culture which motivates, enthuses and empowers others to give their very best and challenges behaviours which fall short of those expected.
  4. Identifies incidences of concern to either patients or staff and deals effectively with the consequences, completing appropriate documentation (for example Datix).
  5. Act as an advocate for the patient/client ensuring the provision of appropriate information and support services.
  6. Ensure that all materials required are available and ordering is undertaken with sufficient notice. This includes liaison with supply companies.
  7. To be responsible for stock control and ordering, ensuring all the necessary equipment is always to hand.
  8. Act as a resource, supporting and motivating staff members.
  9. Assist other clinical areas of the Trust if the clinical situation or staffing levels demand.
