Job summary
This Post is for a Consultant Clinical Oncologist with interest in urology and germ cell based Brighton and East Sussex.
The workload is predominantly outpatient clinical activity, but with some commitments to in-patients (new diagnoses of their site specific tumour type and acute admission complications of oncological treatments).
In addition the post will involve MDM attendance, medical student and registrar teaching, clinical management and research opportunities.
Main duties of the job
This advert is for a full/part-time Clinical Oncology Consultant post with an interest in Urology . The post is to work with clinical commitments in University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust and East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust (Eastbourne /Hastings) working with a team of oncologists who work at these hospital sites already. In addition, peer support, research, teaching opportunities & educational links with all the Sussex Oncologists happen with regular departmental governance and CPD meetings in Brighton / virtual.
The "Sussex Cancer Centre Oncology Service" is a team of oncologists who are employed through University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust but working across the county providing clinical & medical oncology care to the whole of Sussex. This includes provision of clinical non-surgical cancer treatments across 3 hospital trusts and 5 locations with outpatient clinics and chemotherapy activity in Hastings, Eastbourne, Brighton, Hayward's Heath & Worthing.
The Oncology team are advertising a number of new posts to join the team on the South Coast including advanced clinical practitioners, Physician Associates and additional nursing appointments as well as additional medical team members.

- Basic medical degree
- MB BS, FRCR or appropriate specialist qualification
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
- CCT in Clinical Oncology or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
