Job summary

Do you want to help shape and develop our Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) service, offering both communication and dysphagia input to our inpatient mental health and forensic wards? Due to internal progression within the service an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated SLT to join us as we continue to expand our offer and provision across the inpatient mental health and forensic settings.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate SLT to provide specialist communication and dysphagia assessment and intervention for service users currently in receipt of in-patient mental health and forensic services.

The SLT service provides input across a wide range of mental health wards including older age adults, working age adults and forensics. You will join a supportive team and work closely with the wider MDT to support individuals who are experiencing acute mental health difficulties.

We are committed to providing holistic care and you will gain experience of working with a wide range of conditions including learning disabilities and dementia. You will have the opportunity to work with other professionals and providers to meet the needs of our service users.   • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.

  • Membership of the RCSLT.

  • Membership of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Leadership / first line management certificate.
