Hi, my name, is Karl Senior and I am the Team Manager for the Wakefield
CAMHS Specialist Therapies Team!
We are keen to recruit an experienced clinician to lead our current
clinical work, alongside developing the clinical skills of the team.
We offer a multi-disciplinary approach to care and treatment in the
provision of assessments and interventions for Children and Young People,
experiencing moderate to severe complex emotional, behavioural and
psychological issues resulting in mental health difficulties.
Ideally, candidates will have extensive experience working within the
field of children and young persons mental health, in a health care setting.
They should be able to demonstrate core knowledge and skills in mental health
assessment, formulation, care planning and treatment.
It is desirable for candidates to already be trained in a governed evidence-based
therapy such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy,
Psychotherapy or Family Therapy.
We pride ourselves on offering flexible working patterns when this is
needed, for example to facilitate caring responsibilities. The service operates
Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm however successful applicants would be expected to have
the flexibility to work occasional extended hours to facilitate service
effectiveness.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate, will work alongside the
team manager and other lead clinicians in the service, in the development and
implementation of new and innovative ways of delivering evidence-based
treatments,
providing clinical leadership through the provision
of clinical supervision, caseload management supervision and teaching.
You will case hold within this role.
The team is based between Airedale Health Centre in
Castleford and Drury Lane Health Centre in Wakefield. The post advertised is to
cover Wakefield and the 5 towns. Being a car driver is essential due to the
potential distance required to travel when completing home/clinic-visits.
