Wakefield CAMHS Reach Team (Crisis Team) are looking for a registered clinician (Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist) to join the team for a 6-month fixed term post.
You will ideally had previous experience working with children and young people with mental health difficulties or working with adults with mental health difficulties, have valuable transferable skills in assessment, therapeutic approaches, risk management and wish to develop your skills.
Youll be supported by a committed, passionate team who ensure young people have a positive experience of mental health services whilst in acute distress and are supported to feel safe and contained. The team supports the most vulnerable and at-risk young people, improving their access to services, and provide a responsive service to young people in crisis.
The successful candidate will work both autonomously and as a part of an MDT providing timely access to specialist services for children and young people that present in crisis or who present a significant and immediate risk to themselves and /or others.
This exciting opportunity is for a current Band 6 clinician to gain experience of acute clinical work or a Band 5 to step up and develop their skills further.
Main duties of the job
You will manage your own caseload, providing high quality care appropriate to the young persons needs which will include risk assessment and management.
You will develop good working relationships with key professionals across the district; Excellent communication and engagement skills are essential. A commitment to improving service delivery and developing new ways of supporting children, young people and families experiences is crucial to work within the wider CAMHS team. This is a fast-paced role and requires a can-do attitude towards tasks. The team offer outreach to those that are difficult to engage, providing intensive support where required to meet identified need contributing to the prevention of admission to inpatient provision. The team also support discharge from inpatient provision. You will also offer clinical supervision to colleagues.
Based in Castleford, however, requires an ability to travel across the Wakefield district. The team operates 8am-8pm 7 days a week. If you would like to be part of the developing ReACH Team, we would love to hear from you!
This role may be eligible for skilled worker visa sponsorship, subject to the appointed candidates salary meeting the minimum salary threshold of £38,700 per annum under current UK government requirements.
