Job summary
The
Neurodiverse Inclusive Support Team (NIST) is a small multi-disciplinary team
which operates across the Wakefield district. NIST delivers support at existing
CAMHS venues, residential childrens homes and within the childs home or
school. The team deliver: consultation, assessment, care, treatment, and parent
/ carer support within a clinical and community setting. The team work with a
range of professionals to support collaborative care.
The
team predominately work with children and young people with a diagnosis of
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Global developmental delay and more.
We are
looking for an enthusiastic Nursing Associate to join our friendly and
supportive CAMHS team. You will need to be flexible and adaptable, having a
commitment to improving service delivery and developing new ways of supporting
intervention through engagement with children, young people, parents/carers.
We
encourage applicants who have experience of working with children/young people
with emotional and mental health needs.
Driving is essential for this
role.
While the job
description reflects core clinical responsibilities typically associated with
ward-based roles, this post is based within the community and applies these
skills, where required in a community setting.

Main duties of the job
The responsibilities of the Nursing
Associate include:
Delivering psychoeducation
sessions to children and young people, families and carers.
Delivering support to parents
and carers in 1:1 sessions, this may be in a clinic or home environment.
Supporting allocated workers
with complex cases and offering additional visits to provide intervention. You will be expected to adapt your
intervention to support the needs of the children and young people that you
work with.
Updating progress notes and
supporting allocated workers with care plans and risk assessments.
