The Pastoral and
Spiritual Care service of South West Yorkshire NHS Partnership Foundation Trust
is seeking to appoint an entry level Chaplain to work across the Trust.
Applicants should be
accredited by their faith or belief community and/or be able to demonstrate
vocational training and belief accreditation. The successful candidate will
have an interest and good understanding of developments in contemporary
spirituality. He or she will be pastorally experienced in responding to the
spiritual and emotional needs of people from diverse background.
In addition, the
successful candidate will have the confidence and spiritual grounding to
minister to people who have complex mental health and learning disability
needs.

Main duties of the job
Maintain a high standard when
carrying out duties as Chaplain on duty,
You will attend the wards and
community sites to provide a listening ear and minister support to
people from diverse backgrounds of culture and religion and with those of no
faith.
You will
represent the Pastoral and Spiritual Care department in religious services as
required
You will be
able to work flexibly to help maintain a consistent service across Trust sites.
You will be
ecumenically sensitive and pass on referrals as appropriate to other chaplains
within the department
You will be an
active influencer of conversations within the chaplaincy team where spiritual
care is an important issue
You will work within the protocols and practices of the Trust Pastoral
and Spiritual Care Chaplaincy department and the UKBHC (UK Board of Health Care
Chaplaincy)
