Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Community Mental Health
Nurse at either grade 5 or 6 to join our expanding Community Mental Health
Team-Older People Service based at Baghill House Pontefract. We are seeking
either an experienced community mental health nurse or a potential development
post can be offered. This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week.
Our service offers support to service users who have severe
and enduring mental health issues, who are over the age of 65, living in the
east of the Wakefield district. A car and driving license are essential for
this role due to the area that we cover. The role of the post holder is to
identify where vulnerable adults may be at risk, support their mental
well-being so that they can live as independently and safely as possible within
their local community.
The post holder will
also be responsible for becoming a mentor, supporting students and colleagues
with their development, and assuming the daily functions within the band's six
role, development will be offered if a band 5. The post is being advertised as
either a band 6 post or as a development
post at band 5 post whereby the
successful candidate must successfully
undertake/achieve band 6 competency framework to gain the band 6 role. If you

Main duties of the job
Will monitoring, support and offer therapeutic
treatment to service users.
Will hold a caseload and support service users
with complex mental health needs.
Will be able to risk manage safely within the
community whilst supporting person centred approach/ recovery model.
Work both independent and has part of a team.
The post holder will require good IT,
communication skills and be able to write clear comprehensive reports in set
timeframe works on two electronic systems.
Responsible for the safe custody of medication,
including checking and administration.
