Job summary

Part Time - 30.5 Hours Per Week

A rare opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, well-organised and proactive person to join the Wakefield Recovery and Wellbeing College team in the role of Recovery College Coordinator.

The role is to cover maternity leave for 16 months (commencing end of July/beginning of August)at a Band 5 level, Monday to Friday, across usual office hours. The College has a focus on the wellbeing of its team members and offers flexible working arrangements, with candidates being able to discuss working days/hours of work that tie in with personal commitments (providing contacted hours are covered).

The Recovery College offers a unique opportunity for anyone looking to further their career experiences, but especially for those with lived experiences of health and wellbeing challenges and those who are working at a Band 3 or Band 4 level currently. A Recovery College Coordinator position is one of the few opportunities to obtain a Band 5 role, and the experience of working at this level, without the need for a professional qualification (e.g. nurse, OT, physio, etc.). Very clearly demonstrated equivalent experience to the qualifications listed will also enable you to qualify to apply for this role.

This post is open to secondment opportunities, internal and external applicants.

For more information about this post, please contact Lindsey Taylor-Crossley, Recovery College Principal, 07786 290854, lindsey.taylor-crossley@swyt.nhs.uk

Main duties of the job

Recovery College Coordinators are the heart and soul of the Colleges course and schedule planning. They lead on organising course delivery, partnership development, supporting our co-facilitators and volunteers, and working with our local communities to develop a local offer, often to tight deadlines. For this reason, it is essential that applicants are proactive and incredibly organised in their approach to work.

As part of the role of Coordinator, the successful candidate will be required to travel across the district to support the development and facilitation of courses, to network and promote the College, and to develop partnerships. They will be required to co-facilitate sessions for members of the public, to conduct one to one appointments with new Recovery College students, to chair meetings, to work closely with people from a variety of backgrounds and to deputise for the Recovery College Principal at certain events/meetings. This is a very varied role and requires confidence to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, as well as a high level of skill to manage ones time effectively.

The successful candidate will share the role of Coordinator with the Colleges second part-time Coordinator so will need to clearly demonstrate that they work well as part of a team, as well as being able to work well independently.

All employees of the Trust are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect patients.
