Job summary

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Play Therapist who is able to work within a busy multidisciplinary team CAMHS service. As a Play Therapist you will have undertaken specialist play therapy training. You will be able to work autonomously within the context of a multi-disciplinary team approach and undertake specific clinical work with patients and their families who can often present with a range of complex mental health needs.

You must have a significant experience of delivering Play Therapy to Children and Young People who can often present with a range of complex mental health needs, as well as a broader comprehensive range of skills and knowledge to deliver clinical aspects of the role. You will manage your own caseload, providing a range of high quality care appropriate to the young persons needs which will include risk assessment and management, consultation and evidence based interventions.

Community working will require a flexible approach to travel. You must be a registered Play Therapist and hold a current UKPC registration.

- Be experienced in the delivery of clinical supervision

  • Relevant professional qualification, e.g. nursing, or other professional allied to medicine
  • Post qualification training in identified portfolio, e.g. LD. LAC, eating disorder
  • Dip SW or relevant mental health profession
  • A teaching and assessing qualification
  • Membership of professional body

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualification in mental health (e.g. CBT, Family Therapy, Counselling)
  • Masters Level qualification
  • Formal management/supervisory qualification
