Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly
motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist with ambition to join a
dynamic Older People's psychology service. The role will predominantly input
into the Memory Service and Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) for Older
People, however there is scope to support a care home pathway and inpatient
settings dependent on interests.
We would also welcome
applications wishing to develop a career within Older People’s Services. This
is an opportunity for a preceptorship post for a Band 7 to join the service and
undertake a development plan with the aim of developing the required
competencies for an 8a post. The candidate would need to successfully complete
the competency framework before they gain the band 8a and this would not be
achieved due to length of time in post.

Main duties of the job
The role will be varied, including the provision of
neuropsychology assessments and work with the multidisciplinary memory team to
provide psychological support. The
successful candidate will provide assessment, formulation and therapeutic
interventions with older people and their families. The role will include formulating with the
multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in order to enhance care plans. There will be
opportunity to provide psychological consultation, supervision, training and
support across the service.
There is professional and clinical support from other Clinical
Psychologists as well as access to professional support across the network of
Older People’s Clinical Psychologists in the Organisation. There will be opportunities for you to develop
your clinical interests in CPD and supervision.
There are strong links with the University of Leeds
Doctoral Training Course in Clinical Psychology. The Trust also has strong research and
clinical outcome links via an Associate Director of Clinical Psychology, based
within Huddersfield University. Audit and evaluation is encouraged and
supported across the Trust.
