Job summary
A rare opportunity has arisen to apply for a Learning and Development
Manager working as part of the senior People Directorate leadership team at
SWYPFT.
The Learning and Development Manager will have key role in
leading the design, delivery and management of all (non-medical) education,
training, learning and development strategies and initiatives, supporting the
achievement of the Trust’s strategic agenda. The post holder will be
responsible for leading the learning and development team who are responsible
for the development, implementation, and delivery of values-based learning
interventions, leadership development training delivery, elearning, CPD, and
other training programmes such as care certificate and corporately delivered
clinical skills. The Learning and
Development Manager will take the operational lead for education and training
governance such as study leave and proposals for mandatory training, and for
overseeing the Trust’s learning needs analysis process.
The role is formally based at Fieldhead Hospital, Wakefield
with hybrid-working from Kendray Hospital, Barnsley and working from home. The role is offered as full-time and
permanent.

Main duties of the job
As Learning and Development Manager, you will have experience of successfully leading teams and managing resources in a training and development environment, designing, and delivering formal and tailored development approaches. Experience of working in partnership with directors, senior managers, clinicians, volunteers, service users and/or different professional groups to develop, and implement, development strategies is essential.
You will have experience in working with external partners including funding bodies, higher and further education bodies, training providers and commissioners, a full understanding and application of learning needs analyses, the Training Cycle, and defining and leading learning and development work programmes and projects.
As part of the SWYPFT People Directorate leadership team and Learning & Development, you will provide professional leadership for colleagues in education, training, learning and development best practice, and a commitment to further improve our full people service offer working closely with the Associate Director of People Development, the Deputy Chief People Officer, and the Chief People Officer.
