This is an exciting opportunity to join South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist supporting mental health services across Kirklees. Youll work with a high level of independence, managing your own workload & leading projects that directly improve medicines optimisation & patient experience. As a senior member of the local pharmacy team, youll provide advanced mental health medicines expertise, offer clinical leadership, & oversee the management and supervision of pharmacy colleagues.

Your clinical work will include delivering specialist pharmacy services to inpatients at Enfield Down, Lyndhurst & the Priestley Unit, as well as supporting Kirklees community mental health teams, including intensive home based treatment teams & well-being & treatment teams.

As part of the wider South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust pharmacy service, you will have access to support, training, & supervision from experienced mental health pharmacy professionals. You will also play a key role in trustwide medicines optimisation initiatives & contribute to delivering our new Medicines Optimisation & Pharmacy Strategy.

Main duties of the job

The role of the post holder will include provision of direct patient care, carrying out patient consultations and medication counselling, complex medication reviews, rationalizing and optimizing medicines for mental health conditions as well as concurrent medicines for those with long term physical health conditions, prescribing where appropriate and qualified.

There will also be a role to support other health care professionals in relation to mental health medicines including responding to queries and education and training. This role will provide clinical supervision to other members of the mental health pharmacy team.
