37.5 hours per week
As a band 7 Occupational
Health Advisor you will work as part of a large multidisciplinary team
consisting of RMNs, OTs , Physios, MSK advisors, clinic nurses, H&WB
practitioner & staff counselling & Therapy colleagues.
As a nurse led service with
minimal OH Physician input you will be required to undertake complex case
management and provide high quality advice to managers and employees.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will
have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be a team player as
well as being able to work independently. You will undertake a range of duties
including:
Complex case management.
Provide managers and
employees advice via the OH advice line.
Work Health assessments.
Sharp Injury advice and
immunisations.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will provide a high quality occupational health service to LYPFT and SWYPFT and external contracts, in accordance with trust policies and procedures. Post holder would be expected to regularly travel to satellite clinics throughout a wide geographical area. Post holder will assist and support the head of occupational health in delivery of an affective and high quality evidence based nurse led occupational health service. The post holder will be required to provide professional mentorship and supervision to other MDT colleagues under the direction of the head of occupational health and undertake highly complex case management and line with the equality act 2010. The post holder will be required to undertake a comprehensive range of occupational Health's activities including policy and procedure development and review.
The post holder will be responsible for the department in the absence of the head of occupational health.
To promote and maintain the health and safety and wellbeing of all trust employees by ensuring complex OH advice is based on best evidence based practice.
Work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional standards and guidelines including maintenance of confidentiality.
Work in partnership with all key stakeholders e.g. health & Safety, Infection Prevention & Control, MDT OH Colleagues.
To analyse complex facts and situations and make appropriate autonomous judgements.
Assessment of sickness absence and ill health affecting work, including complex rehabilitation and return to work plans.
Provide highly specialised advice to clients and managers as an autonomous practitioner lead.
Develop specialised care packages for complex cases and liaise with appropriate external key stakeholders / agencies to ensure holistic approach to health, safety & welfare of client.
Mentorship and clinical supervision of junior MDT colleagues.
Undertake audit of OH systems & procedures and make recommendations to improve service delivery.
Assist in the review of department policies and procedures.
2nd line work health assessments and advice to recruitment at pre- employment.

- Level 1 RGN.
- RMN/ other equivalent professional qualification in Health and Social Care ( Mental Health Post only).
- Accredited specialist public health community nurse (OH) to degree level on part 3 of NMC register.
- Post graduate diploma in relevant discipline.
Desirable
- Health Promotion experience.
- ENB998 / C7G 7307 or teaching experience.
- PGCE / level 3 in education & training.
