Job summary

28.5 hours per week.

We are looking for someone with creativity, drive, and passion with an attention to detail. To join our volunteer service team, the post holder will provide day to day project management to multiple pieces of work on behalf of the volunteer service; with an initial focus on supporting and delivering lived experienced volunteers to enhance the peer offer Trust wide. The post holder will work with a wide network of staff, service users, carers, volunteers, peers, and partners throughout the Trust and beyond. Providing practical leadership and support to projects and initiatives to ensure defined positive outcomes are achieved.

This job description is an outline of the main duties of the post. The post holder will be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as directed.

Main duties of the job

Support the day-to-day delivery of multiple projects in the volunteer service. The portfolio of projects will initially focus on the Lived experience programme including our approach to peer support workers and supporting ongoing volunteer programmes.

The post holder will develop and maintain project planning schedules. Lead on designated projects and programmes. facilitate and monitor progress of projects formulating and adjusting plans.

Support staff with project delivery. Resolve project delivery problems.

Enhance internal external stakeholder communication to enhance the lived experienced/volunteer offer.

Have good organisational skills.

Deputise for the service manager as when required and manage and process matters arising, taking appropriate action to ensure urgent issues are dealt with appropriately.

Meet deadlines in a timely manner.

Evaluating project performance and providing outcomes

Have good communication skills with compassion.

Provide regular reports updates.

Attend internal - external meetings.

Have good Microsoft Excel and data experience.

Motivate and champion lived experience volunteers and peers.

Experience

  • Co-ordinating successful projects or elements of programmes and undertaking project work, data collection and analysis.
  • Computer literate with working experience of Microsoft Office, Excel.
  • Producing & presenting reports.
  • Presenting to groups of people.
  • Of success in using programme and project management tools and techniques in supporting the delivery of complex (multi-stranded) pieces of work.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of service improvement/innovation techniques.
  • Knowledge of national policy/guidance affecting the NHS.
  • Use of Project Management software.
  • Experience of preparing business cases.
  • Lived experience or worked with lived experience.

Special Knowledge/Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge gained through practical application of Project Management tools and techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple pieces of work across different projects
  • Is able to evidence use of effective influencing, facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Must be able to communicate: difficult to explain information/data, sensitive and contentious information.
  • Ability to identify information/data requirements and analyse, interpret and report on incomplete/ambiguous information.
  • Ability to problem solve, suggest and recommend solutions/approaches to resolve them.
