You
will be joining the People Directorate at a key time of change, working within
a team of People Relations Specialists promoting a person centred culture
across the Trust and embedding this approach across all employee relations
activities.
You
will work with a Senior People Relations Advisor and be responsible for a
defined caseload, working with and advising managers on employee relations
matters such as sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance and performance
concerns along with terms and conditions of service and organisational change.
You
will have experience in dealing with employee relations casework in a
multi-faceted environment and have the ability to work both independently;
using your own initiative whilst also recognising the importance of being a
good team player.
You
will need to have a CIPD qualification and membership of the CIPD. In addition,
you will have a proven track record in building and developing relationships
with all levels of staff, whilst also influencing and coaching managers, as
well as working in partnership with Trade unions.
The
role will be based on hybrid working with days at home and office based at
Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield with the requirement to travel and work at any
site in the South West Yorkshire footprint.
Main duties of the job
You will provide
HR support and advice to managers on all employee relations issues such as;
attendance management, grievances, disciplinary, performance management etc under the guidance of the Senior People
Relations Advisor and Operational People Relations Team Manager. Your approach will be inline with restorative
practice, trauma informed and a just
culture along side Trust policies, best practice and current employment
legislation.
You will be
involved in workforce initiatives to support our key priority of making the
Trust a Great Place to Work and working in partnership with our staff-side
colleagues.

The successful
applicant will to hold a CIPD qualification and also be able to demonstrable recent experience
of working in employee relations and generalist operational HR. Strong interpersonal skills and a confident
approach are also essential. If you have
previous public sector experience that would be an useful.
