Job summary

We are seeking two Recruitment Officers (1 x permanent post and 1 x fixed-term) to join our dynamic recruitment team in the HR Department of the People Directorate based at Kendray Hospital, Barnsley (two days per week).

Main duties of the job

As a Recruitment Officer you will be involved in recruitment end-2-end for a variety of NHS staff groups across our regional footprint.

You will enjoy working with people and process - developing relationship with a diverse range of stakeholders, and supporting recruiting managers with recruitment processes are key tasks of the role.

As an effective communicator youll have a desire to make a difference, putting a focus on candidate experience and inclusive delivery.

You will be joining busy team and therefore be comfortable managing multiple tasks and workload demands. You will work alongside the Recruitment Team Leader and Recruitment Officers to carry out activities of a recruitment caseload which includes placing adverts, and liaising with prospective new starters through the process.

JOB SUMMARY

The postholder will provide advice to managers and staff within the Trust on request in accordance with the Trusts policies and procedures and relevant legislation signposting any issues or concerns to the Recruitment Team Leader.

The postholder will manage their own workload, working within agreed deadlines.

The postholder will assist in developing and communicating employment opportunities to ensure the diversity of the workforce reflects that of the community.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

1. To ensure a professional and pro-active recruitment and selection services is provided including appropriate advice and placement of vacancies on NHS Jobs.

2. To advise and assist managers in the effective recruitment and selection of all groups of staff, ensuring that correct procedures are adhered to and that appropriate direction and advice is given in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and relevant legislation.

3. To provide Recruitment advice to Managers and staff on the application and interpretation of the Trusts Recruitment and Selection policies and procedures and terms and conditions of service and relevant legislation.

4. To be responsible for the preparation, administration and accurate checking of offer letters and Written Statement of Terms and Conditions of Employment, ensuring these are correct in accordance with Agenda for Change and conditions of service and statutory changes or requirements in line with relevant legislation.

5. To be responsible for ensuring adverts, job descriptions and person specifications are written to Trust standards.

6. To be responsible for maintaining the NHS Jobs database accurately throughout the whole of the recruitment process per vacancy.

9. To populate a vacancy tracker using a Microsoft Excel database and monitor the vacancy progress from beginning to end.

10. To be responsible for updating a candidate checklist to monitor progress and inform managers of any developments or actions required.

11. To assist with recruitment and retention initiatives such as supporting the organisation of careers fairs, national recruitment campaigns.

12. To liaise with public, external agencies and staff within the Trust providing a friendly, professional and supportive service either on the telephone, face to face, e-mail or by letter

13. To ensure that all Recruitment, Disclosure and Barring Service), NHS Jobs Web Site, ESR (Electronic Staff Records) databases are inputted and kept up to date.

14. To be responsible for data entry onto the DBS Website ensuring all information provided is accurate and correct.

15. To be responsible for checking an individuals status against the DBS Update Service.

16. To provide advice and support to candidates on the use of the DBS Website and subscription of the DBS Update Service, where applicable.

17. To be responsible in maintaining a high level of confidentially at all times and awareness of Data Protection in relation to disposal of documentation and appropriate storage of files in line with Information Governance.

18. To provide cover for other members of the recruitment office, in periods of absence, difficulties or busy periods.

19. To work independently and collaboratively with the recruitment team to ensure the highest standard of service is provided.
