Job summary

Hello, my name is Catherine Eaves and I am the General Manager of the Forensic In-patient Services at Fieldhead Hospital.

Newton Lodge, Bretton and Newhaven are dedicated medium and low secure units which have an excellent reputation for providing a high-quality service to mentally disordered offenders across the Yorkshire and Humberside area. The units have one hundred and forty-four beds.

The Newton Lodge provides the following Medium Secure specialist care areas:

Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Bronte Ward (7 beds)

Male Assessment Pathway Hepworth Ward (15 beds)

Male Treatment Responsive Pathway Priestley Ward (17 beds)

Male Enhanced Recovery Pathway Waterton Ward (16 beds)

Male Pathway Rehab and Recovery, Vulnerable Patients Chippendale Ward (12 beds)

Specialist Womens Pathway Johnson Ward (15 beds)

Specialist Learning Disability Pathway Appleton Ward (8 beds)

Bretton Centre provides the following Low Secure specialist care areas:

Male Acute Admission Sandal Ward (16 beds)

Male Rehab Thornhill Ward (15 beds)

Male Pre-discharge Unit Ryburn Ward (7 beds)

Newhaven is a specialist Male Learning Disability Service (16 beds)

We are looking for a number of highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful individuals to come and join our Multi-disciplinary teams and help us provide a highly responsive service to meet our patients needs.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for people who are motivated and enthusiastic, with the correct values, that can demonstrate a positive attitude to working with people with challenging and complex Forensic histories in an inpatient setting. The successful candidate will receive regular supervision and training to meet the role. You will be required to follow and implement person centred plans of care and Assessments, that are focused to support our individual patient needs, in line with current national policies and legislation.

All candidates will need to have good communication and time management skills which would enable you to assist in the delivery of outstanding care.

Positive patient engagement and involving service users in their care are priorities for our service delivery as well as ensuring that our practice is safe and effective.

  • Or, level 2 qualification with the ability to demonstrate competencies at level 3.
  • Care Certificate or required to achieve within 12 weeks of commencement.

Desirable

  • Willingness to undertake further study towards level 4 qualification.
