a Team Manager for the NHS Kirklees Talking Therapies Service, here in
Huddersfield and Dewsbury. We are a friendly and supportive service, where our
staff are valued and contribute to service development.
We have recently purchased an
external training programme that offers ongoing CPD for all our clinicians

applications for a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to work
across Kirklees within the NHS Kirklees Talking Therapies Team.
This is an ideal opportunity
for qualified PWPs looking to broaden their experience working in primary care
As an applicant you must have completed
a Talking Therapies approved PWP training course and have experience of working
in mental health services.
As a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner,
you will providing assessments and guided self-help treatment sessions via Face
to Face, Telephone, Microsoft Teams, and group work for clients with common
mental health problems.

Main duties of the job
Team Background
My team provide NICE compliant
psychotherapy incorporating CBT, Counselling and Guided Self Help to clients in
primary care across Kirklees. This is an 8-8 service Monday to Friday, and we
offer sessions either by Microsoft Teams, telephone or face to face.
We hold clinics both in Trust
premises and also in primary care settings across the area to ensure that
were, as much as possible, nearby for the people that use the service.
We treat clients with common
mental health problems such as depression or anxiety and consistently achieve
our recovery target of 50 per cent, for me thats important because it means were
making a difference to peoples lives.

The
post-holder will work within the IAPT service providing high volume low
intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy
(CBT) based self management interventions to service to clients with mild to
moderate anxiety and depression. The post holder will work with people with
different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and
should be committed to equal opportunities.
Accept referrals via agreed protocols within
the service.
Assess and supports people with a common mental
health problem in the self management of their recovery.
Undertakes patient centred interviews which
identifies areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and
makes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
Make
decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the departments
referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or
back to the referral agent as necessary or steps-ups the persons treatment to
high intensity.
Provide a range of information and support for
evidence based high volume low intensity psychological treatments. This may
include guided self help computerised CBT, information about pharmacological
treatments. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media.
Educate and involve family members and others
in treatment as necessary.
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating
to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per
week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains
accessible and convenient.
Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to
referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
