Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical
Psychologist to join our well established multi agency Neurodevelopmental
Assessment Teams on a full-time basis. The team currently offers evidence based
diagnostic assessments in line with NICE guidance to children and young people
under 18 where there are concerns regarding Autism Spectrum Conditions or
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
This post would suit
those who have an interest in neurodiversity, love using assessment and
observation skills to formulate complex presentations, enjoy working with
children, young people and within a multidisciplinary team. The post
provides an opportunity to use skills in trauma informed assessment and
formulation alongside diagnostic assessment tools and criteria. There are also
opportunities to develop skills in supervision, leadership, research, teaching, training and service development.
The service offers a wide range of development opportunities
and is committed to the career development of its staff. All relevant training
will be offered as necessary -for example ADOS and supervisor training and
further CPD opportunities are encouraged. Clinical supervision will be offered
by one of the Senior Clinical Psychologists within the team.
The post is open to clinical psychologists who are due to
qualify or have experience at a band 7 and offers career progression to a band
8a once competencies applicable to that grade and job description have been
met.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be involved in all aspects of the
assessment process and will be a fully integrated member of our friendly and
welcoming multidisciplinary team, working alongside our Clinical Psychologists,
Speech and Language Therapists, Specialist Mental Health Practitioners,
Psychiatrist and Assistant Psychologists.
The role will include
using high level assessment and formulation
skills
using psychological models and theories
alongside diagnostic criteria to understand a childs presentation.
Using observation and activity based
interactions.
Using formal testing measures such as ADOS,
cognitive assessments, QB test to better understand a childs presentation.
Supervision of assistant psychologists and other
team members.
Contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings.
The post holder will also have the opportunity to be
involved in shaping the future of the service.
