to advertise a full time 6-month fixed term mental health pharmacist post working
at:
The Dales at The Calderdale Royal
Hospital, Huddersfield Road ,Halifax, West Yorkshire, HX3 0PW. If you are looking for an exciting and

Our team provide clinical pharmacy and medicines supply services to Mental
Health, Learning Disability and Community services across the Trust.
Our
pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are valued members of the
multidisciplinary teams and the service is currently in the process of
implementing a strategy to expand our clinical services and deliver a high
quality medicines optimisation service across all trust services.
2 years ago,
we gradually introduced electronic prescribing and medicines administration system
across the Trust for inpatient wards, with current plans to extend to community
teams.
The
post holder will be responsible for the operational leadership and delivery of
clinical pharmacy services for their wards. They will also have line management
& supervision responsibilities as well as participating
in service improvement work as required for the development of the clinical
pharmacy services.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have strong
leadership skills, be pro-active, patient-focused and compassionate with an
interest in psychiatry. If you are a strong team player and would like to be

the South West Yorkshire area, this is the opportunity for you.
A background in hospital pharmacy practice
and a clinical post graduate diploma (or equivalent experience) are essential.
Experience in psychiatry is desirable but not essential as there will be
opportunities for further clinical training. The successful candidate will have
excellent communication skills and be able to understand and interpret complex
clinical information and communicate it to patients, carers and other health
professionals.
Provision of
Clinical Pharmacy service to allocated teams.
Provision of
high quality patient focused pharmaceutical care.
Participation
in the Saturday, Bank Holiday and on-call rotas.
To provide
management to allocated staff including appraisal , development and clinical
supervision.
To be involved
in the development of new services as allocated by pharmacy management team.
Develop and
participate in Trust-wide medicines management audits and attend allocated
governance groups to represent pharmacy.

To participate in the provision of a safe and effective specialist
clinical pharmacy service to designated wards within SWYPFT.
To assist Principal Pharmacist / Senior Clinical Pharmacist in the
overall provision of pharmacy services to units/teams within SWYPFT.
To deputise for Principal Pharmacist / Senior Clinical Pharmacist as
appropriate.
Maintain and develop efficient and cost effective systems for
procurement, compounding, preparation and distribution of medicinal products,
which reflect the needs of individual patients/patient groups as determined by
the Trust.
