Job summary

37.5 Hours Per Week Fixed Term

An exciting opportunity for a clinical/counselling psychologist/experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a passion for working creatively and collaboratively within Early Intervention in Psychosis team.

We are a diverse group of practitioners offering a wide range of therapeutic modalities to allow us to tailor our approaches to meet service users need.

We see people aged 14-65 who are experiencing a wide range of psychological/mental health difficulties predominantly relating to psychosis. A qualifying level course in Psychotherapy or equivalent at masters level, or a Doctorate (or recognised equivalent) in Clinical or Counselling Psychology is required.

Additional qualifications in EMDR and/or the ability to work in an integrative manner would be desirable. However, further clinical training opportunities will become available and there must be a willingness to undertake this.

Main duties of the job

The role will identify and deliver relevant treatments and interventions, liaising where appropriate with families, carers and the professional networks.

Candidates will require experience of initial assessments, risk assessments, discharge and follow up and should be able to demonstrate a good level of initiative and an ability to work with a range of different presenting needs.

We are committed to collaborative multi-disciplinary work and maintain positive links with partnership agencies within the local area. The post will be supported through regular formal supervision, appraisal and training with professional advice and guidance available from all team clinicians.

The post holder will provide specialist psychotherapy skills within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will provide a high quality clinical service to the users of the service.

They will provide highly specialist assessment and intervention while working collaboratively with non-psychology and psychotherapy professionals from other agencies and carers.
