recruiting for a Substantive Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry to
join the north Kirklees community team, based at Beckside court in Dewsbury. This
role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they
need, within the community setting.
This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to join an established,
experienced team and help to lead and shape the community services in
Kirklees. The dedicated community team, along with Kirklees outreach team,
memory team and care home liaison teamwork together, to ensure patients receive
the care that they need. The existing psychiatrists in the team are looking
forward to welcoming a new colleague.
The role will appeal to individuals who wish to work in a
multidisciplinary setting across various teams. This role will also be
instrumental in providing education and training to medical and non-medical
colleagues.

Essential
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent training; at least two years training in adult, old age or liaison psychiatry.
Desirable
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment.
- Experience working in other medical specialties including general medicine, geriatric medicine and A&E.
Qualifications
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
- MRCPsych.
- Additional clinical qualifications.

- Excellent knowledge in specialty.
- Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
