Job summary

We are recruiting a Clinical Psycholgist with experience of providing theraputic support in a mental health setting, to help us strive to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of the young people and their families in our communities.

Main duties of the job

You will have the right attitude, skills and knowledge to share our passion in delivering the best quality care experience for children and their families.

Your duties will be related to the delivery of clinical care in the form of evidence based psycholigical therapies to children, young people and their families.

The role would suit a person who has experience of working with children, young people and their families who are experiencing mental health and trauma difficulties.

The job entails working with the thriving kirklees partners to aid service delivery and manage changes and the internal CAMHS leadership team

The CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision.

You will be working alongside an established, cohesive and friendly team at an exciting and important time in our development, as we push forward with implementing new ways of working in order to best meet the needs of the population we work with.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

To offer consultation, supervision and training when required by other agencies involved in the psychological, emotional and behavioural well-being of people referred to the service

To provide consultation, assessment and intervention in the service.

To work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary context.

  1. To provide assessment and treatment options for people experiencing moderate, severe and complex mental health problems.

  1. To exercise expert clinical judgement based on the highest standards of evidence based practise.

  1. To continually seek to expand and consolidate clinical skills using training, experience, and supervision.

  1. To be proficient in the use of Psychometric testing appropriate to the age range.

  1. To provide specialist risk assessment of and intervention to people who present to the service.

  1. To follow appropriate Adult and Child Protection guidelines in all Clinical work, including close liaison with all agencies.

  1. To liaise and consult with the wider professional network in the care of the client.

  1. To work jointly with other team members in delivering the most appropriate clinical service to people and their families.

  1. To undertake project management as required to aid service development.

To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes, in consultation with the post-holders professional lead and service manager(s). To maintain membership of appropriate regulatory bodies (i.e. The Health & Care Professionals Council) and professional bodies such as the British Psychological Society.

  1. To contribute to the development and articulation of best practice in psychology across the service, by continuing to develop the skills of reflective scientist practitioner, taking part in regular professional supervision and appraisal and maintaining an active engagement with current developments in the field of clinical psychology and related disciplines.

  1. To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society, the Health & Care Professions Council and Trust policies and procedures.

  1. To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to the clients the service serves.

  1. The post-holder will be required to work flexibly both in terms of base and in hours of clinical availability.
