Job summary

Calderdale Insight is an Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) community mental health team. We offer support and treatment for people aged 14 - 67 who are experiencing a First Episode Psychosis or At Risk Mental State (ARMS).

We have achieved Top Performing status in the National Clinical Audit of Psychosis for the past five years. A recent Quality Monitoring visit found our team to have one of the best cultures they had encountered: "a team that puts the service user and their carers at the centre; that is clearly supportive of each other; that is flexible, friendly, and empathetic; and that is well led".

Calderdale Insight utilise a team approach that finds the right balance of autonomy and support from colleagues. The work can be challenging, and our standards are high, but the team genuinely feel supported in their decision making. Work related stress levels and sickness are minimal. Job satisfaction is high.

We now have an opportunity to add to our talking therapy team, and are looking to recruit a CBT therapist. This is a full time post (37.5 hours). Ideally, applicants will be qualified to deliver CBT for psychosis (CBTp). Applicants who do not have this specific qualification will be expected to commence training for it at the earliest opportunity.

Main duties of the job

You will focus on offering CBT and CBTp with service users, drawing on evidence-based models and working with the wider team. You will be a vital part of the leadership in the team developing a positive culture and exploring how specific knowledge of CBTp can help the team grow. Part of the role involves offering ongoing training, supervision, and support to the wider team.

Multidisciplinary working is encouraged as it is believed to be vital to provide a full-support package to people and their families. Good communication skills are important, especially when sharing formulations with both staff and those accessing the service.

Ongoing personal and professional development is valued as we strongly believe in investing in our staff team. As part of this, ongoing training to develop skills and knowledge in line with the needs of the service will be supported.

The team have also moved towards a blended care approach with a focus on building good therapeutic relationships and offering to meet with people in a way that works for them. This includes Face to face appointments, virtual appointments and telephone. The successful candidate would need to have the ability to use IT equipment t for this.

The ability to commute within Calderdale, and access to a car is essential.

All employees of the Trust are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect patients
