We are recruiting a Senior MHP in the form of a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist with experience working in mental health to help us strive to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of the young people and their families in our communities.

Main duties of the job

Your duties will be related to the delivery of clinical care in the form of evidence based psychological therapies to children, young people and their families.
The role would suit a person who has experience of working with children, young people and their families who are experiencing mental health and trauma difficulties.
The job entails working with the thriving Kirklees partners to aid service delivery and manage changes and the internal CAMHS leadership team.
The CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision.

The postholder will:
- Provide credible and visible leadership to a multidisciplinary team of CAMHS practitioners who facilitate the interface between Universal, Targeted and and Specialist CAMH Services.
- To support and lead work with Universal, Health, Social and Education Services, advising, training and providing limited joint assessments/therapy with staff in universal services.
- Acting as a resource by being fully aware of existing provision with the Wakefield District and establish relationships with those services.
- Be responsible for ensuring timely access to specialist services for children and young people, developing and engaging partner agencies in the process.
- Make a clearly defined and specialist contribution to professional practice including delivering specialist interventions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To support the ongoing process of delivering a comprehensive CAMH Service ensuring the development of the Primary Intervention Team
- To provide direct and indirect consultation, advice and support to workers within the Primary Health Care Team and other relevant agencies, including Social Services, Education and Voluntary organisations to enable these universal services to develop their skills in recognising and managing emotional and behavioural disorders in children, young people and their families, as appropriate.
- Where consultation results in continued concerns, to undertake assessments of children and young people and their families, as necessary jointly with universal staff who may need support or be considering a referral to specialist CAMHS. To promote and assist the development of staff via training and education in the Primary health and Social Care setting. This will include developing and delivering training as required.
- To be responsible for managing own caseload ensuring robust assessment, care planning, interventions and therapy, onward referral and through-care as appropriate.
- The post-holder will support other team members in managing cases, providing joint working where appropriate on specific therapeutic techniques.
- Responsible for budgetary requirement of equipment and resources necessary for clinical interventions.
- To provide exemplary professional leadership to Wakefield CAMHS Primary Practitioners developing, setting and monitoring standards which underpin best practice in the field of child and adolescent mental health.
- To lead the Primary Intervention Team and assist in the management of staff performance and development, staff recruitment/induction , staff attendance, positive staff behaviour and the provision of support and guidance appropriate to individual need.
- To manage and coordinate rotas for the Primary Intervention Team.
