37.5 hours per week (internal only)

An opportunity has arisen into the Complex and Emotional Needs Pathway in Barnsley within the CORE Pathway. We are looking for motivated staff with an interest in delivering and developing interventions for clients referred into the Pathway. The role will require the successful applicant to support colleagues in expanding their skills and knowledge and also promoting the delivery of Complex and Emotional Needs within Barnsley.

Main duties of the job

The CEN lead will increase delivery of evidence-based interventions for clients that present with complex emotional needs that align with traits of personality disorder namely EUPD/BPD (no formal diagnosis required). As part of this the CEN lead must be trained in Dialectical Behaviour therapy & Structured clinical management or willing to train in both of these evidence-based interventions.

The CEN lead must be able to provide advice & consultation to support systems & services to work with clients more effectively who meet the requirement of complex emotional needs & ensure clients are supported to maintain access to mainstream services minimising transitions of care, utilising & developing the skills that already exist in the teams. Provide supervision for staff working with clients with Complex emotional needs.

The CEN lead will have excellent knowledge around complex emotional needs & personality disorder within a trauma-informed ethos & provide training for internal & external staff who support this client group.

The CEN lead will undertake direct assessments & interventions, & key work a small caseload of clients & will facilitate group work with SCM & DBT.

The Cen lead must have experience of working with a complex client group & demonstrate compassion & be enthusiastic about driving change forward.

  • Substantial post qualification experience, some of which must be working with service users with Personality Disorder / Trauma in a mental health or other complex care setting.
  • Experience of working in different cultural contexts.
