Hello, I'm Melissa Learning Disability Team Manager at Barnsley CAMHS.
I'm excited to be developing our service and I'm looking for a passionate and skilled Learning Disability Nurse to join us in a brand-new Band 6 role.

You'll be part of a small, dedicated team helping to shape a vital service for children and young people with:
Moderate to severe learning disabilities
Complex mental health needs
Significant behaviours of concern
You'll also be linked into LD colleagues across SWYPFT, giving you access to a strong peer support network. We value flexibility, a healthy work-life balance, and a culture that encourages innovation and growth.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you will:
Work through a consultation and systems based approach
Hold a varied caseload
Carry out specialist assessments
Deliver therapeutic interventions
Advocate for children and young people with LD
Contribute to service development and staff learning
Your compassion and clinical expertise will help tackle health inequalities, improve access to services, and ensure the voices of young people with LD are heard and valued.
