Main duties of the job
Specialist Assessment and Intervention: Conducting comprehensive assessments and delivering targeted interventions for dysphagia and complex communication needs in adults with learning disabilities across diverse community settings (e.g., service users' homes, day centres, residential care).
Detailed Reporting: Producing accurate, comprehensive, and timely clinical reports and documentation, adhering to professional and organisational standards.
Service Development: Contributing to the continuous development, evaluation, and improvement of the Speech and Language Therapy service within the Community LD Health Team.
Learning and CPD: Actively engaging in continuous professional development (CPD), supervision, and lifelong learning to maintain and enhance specialist skills and knowledge.
Staff Training: Providing specialist training, advice, and support to other multidisciplinary team members, carers, and external agencies regarding dysphagia management and communication strategies.
