South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a Stop Smoking Advisor to work in the NHS Barnsley Talking Therapies Service. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our motivated team who are enthusiastic about improving the health of people living in Barnsley. You will be a member of the NHS Barnsley Talking Therapies Team however you will have close links and will be supported by the Barnsley Smokefree Service also. We are seeking for applicants either with stop smoking advising qualifications & experience or be willing to undertake the Level 2 Stop Smoking Skills training , with knowledge of supporting people though a combination of behaviour change & the use of pharmacotherapy in a variety of intervention settings. You will have experience of delivering various treatment intervention, on a one to one basis. We also encourage applicants to apply who do not have the relevant qualifications & are willing to undertake them.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will deliver stop smoking intervention to clients who have been assessed by NHS Barnsley Talking Therapies Services and have been offered therapy within the service to address their common mental health problem. This involves delivering evidence-based stop smoking specialist behavioural support which combines pharmacotherapy treatment regime delivered as one to one or group basis. Interventions are delivered face to face, virtual or telephone support. You will work with the NHS BTT clinician to ensure clients can access stop smoking support.
Your role requires to maintain accurate patient records, responsibility managing & coordinating assigned patient caseloads clinics & administrative duties. You will have the ability to navigate various computer systems have excellent communication & interpersonal skills along with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, service users & carers. Working patterns include 9am-5pm weekdays with the expectation that on one day you will work until 12-8pm. Further information contact Victoria Greensmith 01226 644900.
