We are looking for staff
nurses to join our multidisciplinary team. The team comprises of a Consultant
Psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, Occupational Therapists and
Physiotherapists and nursing staff.
The post holder will be
supported closely by the Ward Manager and Lead Nurse and the Matron.
Recognising the national pressures within acute inpatient services, South West
Yorkshire Partnership Trust have developed a priority inpatient program
focussing on the development of our inpatient services with priority focus on
workforce, clinical pathways, and management of clinical acuity.
Beamshaw and Clark ward are
both 14 bedded acute inpatient wards for working aged adults, based within Oakwell
Centre at Kendray Hospital, Barnsley. The Oakwell Centre comprises 4 wards that
support both working age and older adults and PICU service users, providing
specialist inpatient care and treatment for those within the acute phase of
their illness.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an innovative,
committed, and caring practitioner. The successful candidate will be required
to work autonomously and as part of the MDT, demonstrating sound clinical
decision making with a passion for working in an acute inpatient setting.
As a Staff Nurse on a busy
inpatient unit, you will support the MDT in the provision of high-quality care
for adults with a wide range of mental health problems. You will be confident, have
good people skills and able to challenge tactfully and constructively and able
to gain the respect and confidence of nursing, medical and MDT staff. You will have ample opportunity to build your

The successful candidate
will be expected to work a 24hr shift system so to ensure care is provided
across the day and night. You will also
