We at the Early Intervention Team are looking for a new Psychologist
to join the team. The post is based at Kendray hospital site & the
successful candidate will provide
specialist
clinical psychology skills within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder
will provide a high quality clinical service to the users of the service.
They will provide specialist psychological assessment and
intervention while working collaboratively with non-psychologist colleagues,
professionals from other agencies and carers. They will be clinically
responsible to a senior clinical psychologist. Clinical oversight of all work
will be held by the clinical lead in the service.
The post is with Barnsley Early Intervention in Psychosis team.
The community team is based in Barnsley and supports people between the ages of
14 -65 who are experiencing First Episode Psychosis (FEP) or At Risk Mental
State (ARMS).
The philosophy underpinning
the service is recovery orientated with care focusing upon social inclusion
strategies aimed at promoting independence.
A strengths approach to empower service users and carers is central to
service delivery.
We
are a family friendly team; our opening hours are 8.00am to 8pm Monday to
Friday and 9-5 on weekends. The post holder will be expected to work
predominantly Monday to Friday 9-5 however flexibility and a healthy work life
balance is promoted in the team.
Main duties of the job
As the team psychologist you will work directly with those who access
the service in assessment, formulation and 1:1 therapy sessions. Delivering a
high standard of care as is within your profession.
You will be responsible for facilitating clinical supervision to the
team and working with the clinical lead and team manager on development plans,
audit and research projects, in line with governance, national drivers and
initiatives.
Skills in engaging those who access the service and tailoring your
therapeutic interventions is key.
The team psychologist will also link in with the wider Trust EIT network
and the reginal and national forums.
You must be a highly motivated professional with the ability to work
well within a MDT, and creative and progressive in your approach.
