Hello! My name is Dawn, I am the OT professional lead within SWYPT and I am excited to share the opportunity for you to join our Band 5 Occupational therapy rotation.
If you like variety or are unsure which field of Occupational Therapy you want to work in, this could be the post for you.
Rotations allow you to experience working a variety of clinical settings, enabling you to transfer and develop your clinical skills and knowledge within each area and to overall develop your Occupational therapy skills within various settings. Each rotation will be for 6 months and the rotations posts are available within:
Acute adult Mental Health
Neighbourhood rehabilitation Service (long term conditions, D2A and intermediate care)
Equipment and Adaptations
Neurology Rehabilitation
Stroke Rehabilitation
Memory Team
Childrens Therapy
Learning Disabilities community team
Cheswold Park (Forensic services)
You will work alongside skilled Occupational therapists who will provide support, regular supervision. A preceptorship package is available if required.
The trust supports learning and there will be a variety of learning opportunities available to you throughout your rotations.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will rotate every 6 months to a new specialism. You will choose your preferences to the service of your choice and where possible this will be accommodated. You will receive supervision and support within each rotation and also an annual appraisal.
You will work with services users within community, ward, clinic and home environments providing holistic assessment and treatment. You will carry a caseload and prioritise your intervention. You will in a client centred and sensitive approach to therapy, collaborating with clients (and/or carers) in all aspects of the occupational therapy process.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. You will communicate accurate and sensitive information to clients and carers using appropriate and accessible mediums, considering relevant factors such as background, culture, gender, age and any physical, sensory or learning difficulties, adopting an empathic approach at all times.
You will work in line with HCPC standards and within the Trusts policies and guidelines at all times.
