We are looking for motivated & enthusiastic District Nurse to work within our Integrated Neighbourhood Nursing Teams, supporting housebound/residential care patients across the 6 neighbourhoods in Barnsley.
The service is responsible for delivering nursing care, which includes wound management, chronic disease management, promotion of self-care, administration of intravenous antibiotics & terminal/palliative care
Our District Nurses work as part of the team to lead & manage registered/non-registered staff, taking overall responsibility for the assessment, management & evaluation of care delivered to patients
As an advocate for patients, you will have ability to inspire people at all levels & able to motivate/support others through change to maintain the delivery of proactive & safe care

Main duties of the job
As District Nurse you will:
Have responsibility for performance & clinical activity in relation to patient safety, effectiveness of care interventions & patient experience
Ensure compliance with clinical governance frameworks ensuring performance systems are in place & Infection Control policy/procedures are followed
Be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes & behaviours relevant to employment & act in accordance with the NMC Code Professional standards of practice
Have high level communication/interpersonal skills to negotiate & establish collaborative partnerships with patients & care professionals
Have a key role in training, education & staff development, actively participate in regular supervision & appraisals contributing to clinical leadership facilitating a culture of learning/reflective practice
Have a flexible approach to working long days, weekends, bank holidays as the team provides a 365-day service
